I lived in Los Gatos once.  It was pretty cheap rent for Los Gatos.  I was given 30 days to move out because the owner was going tear down the house to build a mansion.

Before I moved out I asked the construction company and the owner if I could have a party were we demo some things and not clean anything up... He said, "sure, demo what every you like, just don't break anything in the kitchen."  We followed instructions.  Long story short, they were not to happy with the demo party and I ended up cleaning up some things and paying for some other things.
